My Outback Bush Soaps Co delivers Aboriginal cultural education workshops through hands-on soap making experiences, designed for organisations, schools, youth services, and businesses seeking meaningful cultural engagement.

This workshop blends cultural education, creativity, and wellbeing, using natural ingredients and local Aboriginal bush medicines sourced from the Dajarra, Boulia, and Mount Isa regions.

Participants are guided through the cultural significance of bush medicines and traditional knowledge systems, while creating their own handmade soaps in a safe, engaging, and respectful learning environment.


Workshop Overview

This is a contracted cultural education workshop, suitable for:

  • Schools

  • Youth programs

  • Community organisations

  • Councils

  • Businesses and corporate groups

Workshops can be tailored to suit young people or adults, and adapted to align with organisational outcomes such as:

Workshop Details

Availability: Monday to Friday
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm (by arrangement only)
Location: On-site or agreed location (Mount Isa region)
Age Range: 8 years and above (program adapted by group)
Facilitator: Aboriginal Cultural Educator (Blue Card holder & NDIS Card Holder)


Cultural Soap Making Experience

Participants will:

  • Learn about Aboriginal bush medicines such as Gumby Gumby, Emu Bush, and Spinifex

  • Explore the cultural connection between Country, healing, and self-care

  • Choose colours and scents to design their own soaps

  • Create multiple handmade soap products to take home

This workshop encourages yarning, collaboration, creativity, and cultural respect, making it both educational and hands-on.
